Hallo, Molweni, Molo, Sawubona, Dumela, Avuxeni, Ndaa, Howzit!

Whenever I've visited SA, it's not just the landscapes, the wildlife, or even the food that has left a lasting impression. Instead, it's the people of South Africa! This love affair began with my first trip during the FIFA 2010 World Cup (let's not discuss the England vs. Germany match!) and continues to this day.

I genuinely believe Cape Town is the best city in the world—where else can you find mountains, beaches, vineyards, wildlife, and people all in one place?

That's why we're thrilled to invite you to join us and experience South Africa, the Ikigai Camps way. Our promise to you is an authentic South African experience; whether it’s visiting the townships around Cape Town, enjoying a traditional braai (the best BBQ!), or walking alongside elephants, we’ll be doing it side by side with the locals.

Ready for a 'lekker' time?

Wildlife, Wonder, &World Heritage

Our Cape Town Camp consists of two parts. Firstly, our local guides will show us the very best of Cape Town. We will:

  • Visit Robben Island, and see where prisoner number 46664 was held.

  • Take a cable car to the top of Table Mountain, for the best views of the cape.

  • Stroll through the Old Town and explore local markets

  • Discover Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden

  • Visit and meet the locals on a Township Tour

  • Visit !Kwah ttu, home of the San people, and hear their story in their own words.

  • Create your own South African art, and jewellery, in guided workshops

  • Connect with each other and new friends at a braai, whether it's over a game of football, or sharing stories around the fire.

Next, we will venture into the heart of nature, where the focus shifts to exhilarating wildlife encounters and thrilling adventures. Together we will:

  • Explore Cape Point Nature Reserve

  • See the famous Boulders Penguin Colony

  • Witness Whales in Hermanus, if we're lucky(!)

  • Zip-line through the Elgin Mountains
